Thanks for this post. I live in my small hometown again after realizing the city hustle wasn’t for me, and I find most of the things I’m looking for right here: quiet, nature, family, and community. I am 36 and I see a lot of people my age running at burnout pace and I cannot fathom why. It is their actual life they are burning, and for what? I’m not sure they know.
As for your search for a good definition of success, perhaps Adam Grant has some insight. He has repeatedly defined success as living one’s values. That’s as close a true definition as I have seen.
